Please call first.
0800 EVH 111 (0800 384 111) If your pet is showing signs of distress, or there has been a significant medical emergency we are available evenings, weekends and public holidays, just a phone call away.
Emergency work by nature is very unpredictable. If we are caught up in a lengthy medical emergency or surgery you may be prompted to leave a message. Move your pet safely to your car and make your way to the hospital, we will return your call as soon as we can.
Hospital facilities.
Our experienced team of dedicated emergency veterinarians and nurses can take care of your pet in a fully equipped, state of the art hospital facility. We have an extensive array of good quality surgical equipment, supplies and instruments.
Operating theatres and recovery units are at the ready for when you need us most. Theatre staff wear scrub suits, gowns, hats, special shoes and masks, just as you would expect in a human theatre environment. This attire is only worn within the theatres and the outer layers are changed after every patient.
Payment.
A deposit will be required when you arrive with your pet.
Full payment is required after treatment when your pet is stable enough to return to you/your vet’s care.

Dedicated care.
Each patient in our care will be assessed to identify how stressed or anxious they may be. We modify their treatment and handling in a way that tries to promote calm and happy animals.
All surgery patients receive careful assessment, a tailored anaesthesia plan, careful anaesthesia monitoring, a personalised pain management plan and thorough hospital care (which includes TLC).
Recovery.
Once the emergency has passed and your pet is in a stable condition, they will be returned to the care of your routine veterinary clinic for future care.
Do not hesitate.
Do not hesitate in getting help should you notice your pet having any potentially life-threatening symptom such as breathing difficulties, bloated tummy with or without retching, unsuccessful attempts to pass urine or faeces, bleeding, seizures or severe pain.
